The following criteria are essential for acceptance into the program:
  • Access to areas where Phragmites is present
     
  • Internet access
     
  • Willingness and flexibility to dedicate a minimum of approximately 20hours (discussion/research, field & lab work, analysis & reporting) by early spring, 2002. Note: more than one class/group of students can be involved, e.g. four classes each investing approx. 5 hours.
     
  • Commitment by educator to oversee the project to ensure protocols are followed and valid data are reported (completion & submission of all provided data sheets is expected).
     
  • Completion of questionnaires and participation in telephone interviews regarding the STSP itself.
