  1. Dull pocketknives, exactor knives, or other cutting device
     
  2. Data sheets and pencils
     
  3. Meter sticks or tape measures (metric)
     
  4. Sandwich bags for keeping plant parts

  6. Dissecting scope (optional)
     
  7. Calipers (metric, we like digital ones from Forestry supplies)
     
  8. Drawing paper for sketching, describing different insects

  11. Petri-dishes, jars or vials for insect rearing
     
  12. Vials for storage of insects in alcohol
